Lifestyle Choices you can make for yourself......

February 1, 2015-

Following one lifestyle or another can be confusing and down right time consuming.....so I am here to say I have found my lifestyle that is a combination of at least three lifestyles (the best of them that is...). Follow along with me the next 28 days and find out why.

I will attempt to cover every point I can in why I choose certain lifestyle choices.

Let me begin with- I rarely will choose to refer to this as a "diet" and opt to call it a LIFEstyle. This because DIEt has the root I choose to run away from and avoid, whereas LIFEstyle is for the living, the healthy, the productive....YOU GET THE POINT!

I have taken the best of several lifestyles and made my own lifestyle.....instead of the Vegan Paleo Raw til 4 Lifestyle...I think I should be calling it the Six Legged Companion Lifestyle, as I fully intend to show others how to be healthy with your dog eating plant based foods together, and of course exercising together (for ALL levels!)......Yes, I strongly URGE a plant based lifestyle, yes I urge the best of the Paleo lifestyle, yes, being RAW a majority of your time is best.......BUT these are only three factors in this lifestyle and YES there is room for your personal changes (as long as they are healthy ones.....)

In the next 28 days, we will be talking about some of those HEALTHY lifestyle choices you can be making and in fact you can do for BOTH YOU and YOUR DOG!....Ya ready.....

Ok, to start here are some of the topics we will be discussing:
PLANT BASED/ VEGAN
PROCESSED VS UNPROCESSED
SUGAR- REFINED VS NATURAL ( I have a great book, short and sweet too, that could bring a lot of light to this subject- written by a friend and classmate of mine)
DOG FOOD VS HUMAN FOODS- what is good and bad for your dog
OILS (Olive, Coconut, Vegetable, Canola, and the oh so many different oils out there....)
ORGANIC VS NON ORGANIC (Conventional)- what do those numbers mean, if anything, on those stickers
Growing our own food
Working out with our dogs
Clean 15 and the Dirty Dozen
Not just food but other lifestyle choices to make for your health
Dogparks and how they can benefit both team members
plus so much more.......

AND ONE MORE BONUS: I will on February 28 be giving you the ONE TRUE- and only ONE TRULY MAGIC PILL! So stay tuned to find out what that is....any guessed now?!?!??!?!

A little about my choices-
I first became vegetarian back in 1992, for the sake of the animals.......then in 2000 I took things a step further and became Vegan.......this time I added the environment factor into the mix.....so now I had the lives of the animals and how the environment was being treated on my mind. Oh BONUS, I was doing something good for ME! Yes, according to dozens of studies- going PLANT BASED was and is so healthy.

Since 2012, actually a little before- but for setting a year, I am officially going with 2012.....when I went to nutrition school and really started learning about GMO's and organic vs conventional fruits and veggies......oh yeah another topic we will be covering at the Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen!......So in a way, I started to follow a big part of the Paleo Lifestyle and trying to forage for my own foods in a modern world that is.....I know I am far from being Paleo and forgeing for my own foods is something  I need to be working on- IE: growing my garden throughout the year- YES, even in the snow! (KALE is a great winter veggie!) Which is something we can get more into during these 28 Days......

Then over the last two or three years, I have tried to eat more of my veggies Raw rather than cooked - okay some of them I just need to cook- like my potatoes (sweet, white- we'll get into more of he types in the upcoming month!) So trying the 80-10-10 lifestyle I found difficult to stick with long term, so as my friend Freelee came up with, yes, she took the best of that and the Vegan lifestyle and made things her own too.....she came up with the Raw til 4 Lifestyle.....and I am taking the best of her movement and combining it with the best of the rest.

Oh why must I add the dogs into the lifestyle?....SIMPLY PUT I LOVE MY DOGS and not only do I need to live a healthy lifestyle BUT so do they. Dogs too become Obese, get diabetes, heart disease, cancers, etc......

In the end, for tonight I will attempt to take all these blogs and put them and more into a book in the next month......along with recipes from Sandy's Blog......and workouts from Skyler's Blog, and Scout's Blog, and other lifestyle choices from Candycane's Blog........

Now, any of these lifestyle choices are just a guideline for you to make these healthy changes in your life. You can follow the lifestyle and adhere to each and everyone of them STRICTLY OR you can make them your own....and make simple changes over time and still stick to our lifestyle- HAVE FUN with it and make the best choices with and educated mind and eye and with this alone you will be stick with it!

Ok, until tomorrow....
Think about the points I will be discussing......
Good Night,
Pam
